It’s hard being Black.
It’s even harder being a Black Girl.
I suppose that’s why I’ve gathered enough of my nonexistent balls to start a blog that talks about this.
I decided to title said blog The Melanin Perspective because my melanin is very much present and prospering, and we’re looking at the world through MY eyes.
The thing is, I don’t want it to just be me complaining about my trials and tribulations on the female melanin journey. They already think we do enough of that.
Nah, it’s gonna be about my triumphs, too.
And we’re focusing on three no-no topics in our community: Mental Health, Emotional Intelligence, and Physical Well-Being
Because y’all know most Black people don’t like therapy, being told they’re wrong, or giving up cake and bread for fruit and vegetables.
It’s me. I’m Black People.
So, if you haven’t left by now, then I guess you’re stuck with me while I attempt to coherently get my ish together. (I am also trying to tame my potty mouth.)
You guys get a front row seat to my online diary every week, which means that you’ll witness every success and failure I experience in the terrible threes on my path to intrapersonal superstardom!
And as I consequently try not to freak out from that declaration, I also feel a great sense of excitement and anticipation run through me.
To all my Black Girls all around the World, this one’s for you.
