What’s up babes, we’re back with another highlight! Our featurette today is one I’m super excited about, as we have a lot in common. Daisy Boateng is a marketer who loves fashion, ugh, a girl after my own heart! She’s a Londoner turned New Yorker that models for BAME (Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic) modeling agency, is the founder of the first ever BAME sorority in the United Kingdom and works for THE L’Oréal! What inspired her, you might ask? “I always wanted to work for L’OREAL as I saw them as a leader in their field and this inspired me to apply for a role there straight after university. During my time in the beauty industry, I’ve developed a passion for pushing diversity & inclusivity and ensuring all types of beauty are represented. As I progressed through university into my current career in the beauty industry, a disparity became more and more apparent: girls that look like me have fewer connections, less support and less self-belief than their peers from other races. I wanted to create something that gave BAME women the connections they needed to succeed in the careers they dream of. This is why I created @thestepupsorority.”
Don’t we just love pioneers who build platforms for minorities to have proper representation?! Ms. Boateng is going to change the world! And she is going to continuously serve lewks while doing so. Check out Daisy’s socials down below, so you get to be apart of her inclusive journey!
