What’s up babes, we’re back with another highlight! Today we’re mixing it up and covering some new territory with Tasha Bethea. She is a music producer who is currently making waves in the industry, but of course that wasn’t always the case. Her story is an amazing one. “My inspiration for music production came from my cousins Leek and KRich. I was around them a lot when I was interning at Big Cat Records/Radar Live in Atlanta. They both are amazing producers. KRich has produced for Tee Grizzly, Kodak Black, Dreezy and the list goes on. Watching him work and perfect his craft made me want to give producing a shot. Leek also has a few records with artist like Lil Keed who is signed to 300 Ent and Seldom who is an up and coming artist out of Atlanta. I felt like it only made sense for me to start taking producing seriously. I had to keep up with my big cousins! Women are often limited to being singers and songwriters in the music industry. With the business being so over saturated with singers and songwriters, I knew I had to do something different. Saying that I know how to produce and then following up with hard beats made me stick out in good way. Now that I’m a little more familiar with the business, I’m exploring all my talents. Whether that’d be rapping, singing or writing. I used the production to get my foot in the door and now I’m just having fun being a producer and artist. My inspiration for singing definitely came from my parents. My dad used to have my sisters and I sing Ray Charles what felt like every day and my mom kept me in voice/piano lessons. I have a lot of support from my family and I am so thankful for that.”
Now if there’s two things I love, its dynamic family affairs and women crushing it in male-dominated fields! And you’ve gotta check out her music: “I have a few projects out now. I have about 4 beat tapes that showcase my production skills and I have one single out called “Real Slow”. Real Slow was originally supposed to be for a major artist but the producers on the record (Prioritybeats) had encouraged me to stop trying to shop it to people and to keep it for myself. Priority Beats has played a major role in my development as a producer and artist. I’ll be dropping another single soon before dropping a project! I’m looking to release a project in December but who knows what’ll happen between today and 3 months from now.” Everybody better go spam this beautiful innovator’s socials right now!
