Anyone who know me knows that I’m an actual nerd. I read books and listen to podcasts DAILY, in addition to watching documentaries for fun. Podcasts, however, have become newly integrated into my nerd routine just earlier this year. I got hooked, as they changed my life tremendously. So, I figured since we’re all like-minded in terms of leveling up and whatnot, you guys wouldn’t mind me sharing some of my favorites! Now, as we go through this list, you’ll quickly notice that not everyone is a Black woman, and I did that on purpose. Although #TheMelaninPerspective is catered to Black girls, I want us to embrace the concept that there are other entrepreneurs out there who we can take substantial advice from, no matter their race or gender. We are all limitless and open-minded Queens over here, and with that being said, let’s dive into this list of gems!
The Goal Standard, Lenè Hypolite
Of course, I’ve got to start off with our most recent Melanin Boss Babe highlight, Lenè Hypolite! The Goal Standard ( formally The Glow Up Podcast) is perfect for those looking to level up in any business! Lenè often posts episodes in an interview style, speaking with entrepreneurs in various fields. You’re guaranteed to take at least one piece of key advice from an episode. She also currently lives in Singapore, so you’ll be exposed to a lot of international flair between her and her guests as well!

Myleik Teele’s Podcast: #MyTaughtYou
This one is very special to me, and anyone who follows me on my social media knows why. #MyTaughtYouPodcast was the very first podcast I ever downloaded, and it inspired me to start #TheMelaninPerspective in the same day! This podcast focuses a lot on personal development, but you’ll definitely get some entrepreneurial tips as well. Myleik has a mix of interviews and solo episodes, so if you’re looking for a balance, this is perfect!

Slay Girl Slay, Ashley Leggs
This podcast is one I binged on as soon as I heard the first episode. Slay Girl Slay is definitely on the personal development wave. Ashley rides solo, often basing episodes on her somewhat current life experiences. I also feel it’s important to note that her voice is so soothing, she talks like Jhene Aiko sings. If you’re looking for a more one on one vibe, this is for you!

RISE Podcast with Rachel Hollis
This is the first podcast in the list that I discovered secondhand. I actually bought her book, Girl, Stop Apologizing (which I’m still reading now, btw) first, then looked her up and found the podcast. What I love about Rachel is that she does more then get you pumped up. A lot of entrepreneurs/influencers will get people super excited and inspired but give them absolutely no advice on what substantial steps to take next. She’s the real deal when it comes to business knowledge and the bottom line.

WorkParty with Jaclyn Johnson
I love the diversity of interests that this podcast brings! Jaclyn works in an interview style bringing in household names in the entrepreneurial world to learn their “secrets” to success. I put that in quotations because the formula itself is pretty simple, just putting it into action is where people fall off. ANYWHO, if you’re not looking for anything to focused, then check out WorkParty!

Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield
This is one of the newer podcasts in my library, as I found out about it through one of the Rise Podcast episodes. Amy has been in the podcast game for a long time (est. 2013 to be exact) and it shows. Similarly, to Rachel Hollis, Mrs. Porterfield is great about getting rid of the fluff, and covering the bottom line of what exactly is needed to grow your business. She also has a mix of solo and interview style episodes, so it’s a very well-rounded experience!

$mart Passive Income with Pat Flynn
We need more money! Like sis, now is not the time for modesty, a little extra coin in our pockets is something we could all benefit from. Like Amy, I found out about $mart Passive Income through an episode of Rachel Hollis’ podcast. Pat is good about revealing the behind the scenes aspect of producing projects and making money. Girl CEO Podcast, Ronne Brown
Out of every host listed so far, Ronne Brown is someone who I’ve known of the longest. I discovered her years ago, as she was high up in the network marketing company I use to work for. She’s fairly new to the podcasting world, having just started this year, but she’s already made an impact. She exercises the interview style episodes, focusing on self-worth as the root of entrepreneurial success. If you’re needing more emotional support on your journey, Girl CEO is for you!

Marriage at Golgotha with Felicia and Wayne
Calling all Christians! I’m a little biased with this one because these are my mentors, but this podcast is for those in the church, both married and single. Wayne and Aunt Fe as I know her explore taboo topics in the church centered around relationships. And although they give a lot of marriage advice, they also provide substantial discussion about single life as well (their ‘Living Single’ episodes are some of ma favs). Go show them some love, y’all!

Therapy for Black Girls, Dr. Joy Harden Bradford
This podcast is the newest to the family. As in, I literally just downloaded it last night (Thursday) when my best friend texted me about it. I’ve been listening to a few episodes as I type this post, and as usual, Shy-kyra was spot on with the recommendations. This podcast is directly related to the intended goal of this blog, which is overall growth mentally, emotionally and physically. All of you queens need this in your library!
Podcast
I hope this list is as helpful to you all as it’s been to me! Most of the links take you to an actual website, as the hosts have other sectors that I feel would interest you. However, all these podcasts can be found on Apple (the purple and white app). So, for my superior iPhone users, download away!
