Dumb-smart people make my skin crawl.
I mean, they’ve got to be the most frustrating people on the planet, because they won’t pick a side.
At least with smart-smart people and dumb-dumb people, you know what you’re getting all around.
But these dumb-smart ones will send you on a world wind.
Don’t know what the hell I’m talking about? Let me explain.
Dumb-smart people can be defined as those who possess textbook intelligence, but lack emotional intelligence, more commonly known as “people skills”.
Yea, the book smart people who don’t know how to interact with others of their kind.
And you know what the crazy part is?
I, myself, have fallen victim to the dumb-smart disorder (inserts the “smh” emoji).
That’s right folks, I haven’t always been the genius human butterfly that you see before you today.
I used to be a shell of myself, I was always willing to talk about anything that didn’t make me emotionally available.
Until my emotional unavailability stunted my overall intelligence.
Crazy, right? My not interacting with people in an effective manner eventually led to the demise of the “textbook” knowledge that I would seek to gain.
Because at that point, I was diminishing my intelligence, my skillset, and my accomplishments to accommodate the insecurities of other people.
This all stems from the emotional detachment disorder I talked about last week.
Sometimes we don’t realize just how intertwined the two are (emotions and logic). At some point, they’ll start impacting the other.
Feel like I just spiraled into a rant?
That’s okay, I felt the same way, too.
But it’ll all click eventually as you grow on your journey.
We haven’t even touched the tip of the iceberg yet, so don’t feel left out.
Because I know what the other side looks like, I am more than qualified to talk about this topic.
And you will be, too.
So, get your tissues ready sis, because this extended therapy session is gonna be a tough one.
But it will be worth it. Just like you.
